The "Simple Puppet Making Workshops" are designed for young children. In around an hour, participants sculpt and decorate a puppet head, attach it to a control rod and fit a cape. Depending on skill levels and time allowed they may also add a detailed paint job, hair, hands and costume details.
All materials and equipment are supplied by Dowtcha puppets. Participants are given aprons to wear, but old clothes are recommended. All materials are non toxic, and the paint used washes out.
Each Dowtcha Puppets workshop leader can supervise 5 participants at a time. By prior arrangement, clients may provide appropriate adults to increase the number of participants. Numbers are limited for safety and to ensure a quality of experience. Parents and/or guardians are welcome to assist their children.
The "Puppet Show Workshops" involve 3 sessions. The First for improvised Story Writing, Puppet Design and Music Selection. The Second session for Puppet and Set Making. The Third for Rehersal and Preformance. The intention of this workshop is to make the performance of original Puppetry accesible to all participants.
